Happy Tuesday/Monday...
Well technically it's the first day of the school week and feels like a Monday to us. It's actually Fat Tuesday... so eat up because tomorrow is Ash Wednesday and we give up rich foods, etc... for Lent. Well that is the tradition!
Not so much for us today. Let me go back to Saturday. By Saturday I literally sounded like a man. I had 102+ fever and was miserable. Good thing my husband was coming home. Thankfully Christopher helped me straighten the house. We were presentable, let's say! Marque landed in Houston and it took so much time in customs, he missed his connecting flight. So he didn't get home till after 11pm (I think).
I made him a decaf and we all talked then went to bed shortly after. Sunday I stayed in bed most of the day. No one wanted to be around the sickness anyway.... He showed us the treats he brought us from Italy/Germany. YAY lol ... then yesterday we went to the doctors. Well, Marque came home with a cough, so I made him an appt too. The doc said "you are very sick" to me. I have a bad case of bronchitis. To be honest, I thought I had pneumonia (well, Marque put the idea in my head). Anyway - so I had to get a shot in the tuchus. And can I say - she bruised me. Holy Moly. It's a newer nurse, and I think she was nervous. Dude - get the meds in, don't take your time. OUCH! lol Anyway - we are both on antibiotics. I am up having a bite to eat, though I'm not really hungry... and then, I am going back to bed. It's a little boring, but good for me, I guess.
I've been thinking about what we are giving up for Lent. To be honest, I am not sure. We are going to Mass in the morning, then to a meeting with the folks about WCC. I am going to try to say the Rosary every day in Lent. I think this will be good practice for me. We are, of course, giving up candy... but I'm honestly not sure what all else we are doing. All this illness has me behind the curve ball.
ANywhooooooooo I need to get back to bed. Cards and all fun stuff will be delayed a bit...
I'll talk to you later.
Love and hugs,
Em

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self centered; Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish ulterior motives; Be kind anyway. The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have, and it will never be enough; Give the world the best you've got anyway. You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God; It was never between you and them anyway. ~ Mother Teresa
